JSC Appoints 18 CMs, 4 Assistant Registrars

KAMPALA. The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed four judicial officers as Assistant Registrars.
According to a communique' made by the Secretary to Judiciary/ Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kagole Expedito Kivumbi, the four are; HW Joy Kabagye Bahinguza, HW Dorothy Ssempala Lwanga, HWSimon Zirintusa and HW Jamson Karemani Kalemera.
The letter says the appointments were a result of the 48th JSC meeting held on 11thJuly 2018.
The letter further lists 18 names of new Chief Magistrates. Chief Magistrates exercise general powers of supervision of all magistrates' courts within the area of their jurisdiction. The new Chief Magistrates are HW Douglas Singiza Karekona, HW Charles Yeteise, HW Ntalo Nasulu Hussein, HW Kule Moses Lubangula, HW Chemeri Jessica, HW Akullo Elizabeth Ogwal, HW Obong George, HW Lamunu Pamela Ocaya, HW Mugala Jane, HW Kagoda Samuel Ntende, HW Nakitende Juliet, HW Amoko Patricia, HW Nanteza Zulaika, Sayuni David, HW Katushabe Prossy, HW Mulondo Mastula, HW Imalingat Robert and HW Teko Lokeris Godfrey. Of these, twowere working as senior state attorneys while the rest are serving judicial officers.
The appointment of the four Assistant Registrars brings the total number to 13 while the addition of 18 Chief Magistrates brings the total to 55.
